Frequently asked questions about hemp tea.

Is it legal to grow hemp?

Yes, the hemp varieties that we use for our hemp tea are legal to grow in Europe. They are strains of the so called ‘fibre hemp’, that fall within the EU maximum norm of 0,2% THC (THC is the psychoactive compound, of which 5-20% can be found in the marijuana plant). So our hemp plants can absolutely not make you high or stoned. We use the varieties Fedore 17 and Futura 75. These varieties are all registrered in the EU plant variety database as listed on the website of the European commission.

How should I prepare the hemp tea?

Everyone has his or her own way to prepare tea, and that’s fine!. As a guideline we can say: put Dutch Harvest in a stainless steel tea egg or tea filter, or in a paper tea filter. Use approximately 1 gram / 1 teaspoon for a cup of tea, and make sure there is enough space for the ingredients to unfold. Let water boil and pour it over the tea. Let it tea brew for about 5-7 minutes. We recommend removing the tea infuser or tea filter so that the tea does not become too strong.

Preferably use a tea infuser that is made of stainless steel, not metal. This is because metal can react with the tea and influence the taste.

You can also make iced tea based on Dutch Harvest, check out some recipes here.

What is the best way to store Dutch Harvest hemp tea?

You can keep Dutch Harvest in the packaging in which you bought it, that protects the tea sufficiently. Of course you can also keep the tea in an airtight tin. In any case, make sure that the tea is not near other herbs and spices with a strong aroma. This way the tea does not absorb other smells and tastes. Always keep the tea in a dark, cool and dry place (but not in the fridge!).

Does Dutch Harvest hemp tea contain CBD?

We often get the question: is your hemp tea the same as ‘CBD tea’? Indeed, the leaves and flowers of which Dutch Harvest hemp tea is made naturally contain CBD and CBDA. Some people may experience a beneficial effect of this. However, we prefer not to sell it explicitly under the name ‘CBD tea’ because we do not want to create the impression that our hemp tea is a medicine. Read more about the effect of hemp tea here.

Can Dutch Harvest hemp tea help in the treatment of an illness?

Almost every day we get the question if hemp tea helps with the treatment of illnesses.

However, we are not allowed to comment on this, as we are not a doctor but a producer of hemp tea. But fortunately a lot of research has been done into the effects of CBD and hemp tea. We advise you to look for more information about CBD online.

What is the difference between Dutch Harvest hemp tea and marijuana tea?

Marijuana tea refers to tea from the marijuana plant, a variety of hemp containing a high amount of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). This can even go up to 5 or even 20%. Marijuana tea therefore often has a psychoactive effect. The hemp plants we use for hemp tea always contain less than 0.2% THC (in our tea there is even no THC at all) and have no psychoactive effect. You can’t get stoned or high at all!

Can you get stoned from Dutch Harvest hemp tea?

No, absolutely not. The hemp varieties that we use for our hemp tea always contain less than 0.2% THC (in our tea there is even no THC at all). So you absolutely can’t get stoned or high from a cup of our hemp tea!

Where can I buy Dutch Harvest hemp tea?

Our hemp tea is for sale in several shops throughout Europe. Find the points of sale on this page. Do you have an idea for a nice (organic) shop where Dutch Harvest should be listed? It would be great if you could advice the owner!

I have a shop or a café, could I resell Dutch Harvest?

Yes you can! If you send us a request via this form, we will contact you soon.

Could I also buy hemp plants or hemp seeds from you?

We often get the question if we sell hemp plants or hemp seeds. However, there is strict legislation regarding the sale of hemp plants or seeds (even when it comes to THC-low ‘fibre hemp’!). The permitted hemp varieties we grow can only be grown by farmers and this comes with strict government rules. We are therefore not allowed to sell the seeds or flowers.
